Solution for Bluetooth and Treo 650 on New 07 S550
When I purchased the bluetooth puck for my new S550 I was having trouble using command functions with my Treo 650. I found a solution at www.palmone.com. I upgraded my Treo software to 1.04 and now everything works perfectly!!!. Dialing, voice commands, address book, ALL THE FEATURES! They claim the bluetooth interface has been improved. Find the software version on your phone at phone info menu under options to verify if you need to upgrade to 1.04 or higher.
I'm repeating the reply since I don't know if the first one worked. Your information was the first encouraging information that I've seen on the topic. Which Bluetooth puck did you purchase? Where did you purchase it? Do you have a Sprint, Cingular or Verizon Treo?
I purchased the Mercedes Bluetooth Interface Module at my Dealer only to find it much cheaper on ebay or the net. They ripped me $540 bucks when you can get it for $350 elsewhere. My Treo is from PalmOne and runs on a CDMA Network by Centennial Wireless which is a local provider in Puerto Rico. The most important thing is that your Treo runs the latest available system software 1.04 or higher. More details on the PalmOne support site. The problems many people face with this interface are not related to the Bluetooth Module in the car but in the phones bluetooth software version.

Purchased MHI at dealer for $408 (same price as on Wireless4MB) and it works fine with my Sprint Treo 700P. Even downloaded Favorites phone directory. Parts department guy swore that it wouldn't work but it did.
There you go! Sometimes I think we know more than most of the staff at the dealer on topics related to technical advances. They are taught to repeat incorrect info when all they should do is subscribe to these forums and learn new tricks.
i wish there was an easy solution like this for Windows Mobile phones, i.e. blackjack i can dial and make/receive calls, but no phonebook or anything else.
how do you send an address book via bluetooth? and isn't that something i would then have to do each time i got in the car?
No, you can send and address book entry or the whole address book (from your phone or from a laptop etc.) to the Comand and it would stay on the Comand, would be accessible even if there was no phone connected. Once the phone is connected, it may also download the address book and you would see those entries that did not exist locally in the Comand address book.
