DVD player in the headrest - Can it be done.

I have a 2007 s550 does anyone have any ideas where and how I can install a DVD video system in the headrest. I live in New Jersey. Thanks

I researched this about a month ago and found out that my local stereo shop has a resource where they can get DVD/monitors pre-installed in headrests that are identical to the original ones. (You can hang onto your original headrests untouched.) Afterwards, they install the new headrests that now have DVD players with the monitor built in, that way each rear passenger can watch a different movie. As far as where they tap into the car for power , I am not certain YET. The entire price I was quoted was around $1600 for both monitors.

Does this defeat the headrest safety functions? I thought I read somewhere about not being able to use any aftermarket headrests but I am not sure?

You would be better off ordering the reat seat entertainment solution from Mercedes. It may cost a bundle but it conforms to all safety requirements.

I'd agree with miroj, unfortunately that option is out of my budget, no rear seat entertainment in my car for now.
