I just ordered an S420 CDI-L (six months delivery time thanks to designo) here in the Netherlands, and I was wondering if someone could help me out with something.
I've ordered mine with the DVB-T (digital tv) option.
Unfortunately most tv stations here are encrypted using conax (a digital tv encryption standard).
Usually digital tv recievers that you buy here have a pcmcia slot for a common access module, and that common access module holds your conax smartcard. Et presto, you get decoded digital tv.
I'm wondering if something like that is possible with the S class as well. It does have a pcmcia slot, but i think thats only for memory cards containing mp3's and the like ?

That is an interesting issue. If you browse the manual, it does not mention anything about encrypted channels or an option to insert a smart card: S-Class Interactive Owner's Manual [More detail]
Did test-drive a car with DVB-T but never thought trying a way to play encrypted channels. Would be odd if the had totally ignored this issue.
