Good grip on a smooth race track. But does it not become terribly uncomfortable on a common road?

Maybe I am swearing in church but I think the rims look like those they have on a wheel barrow or some other agricultural implement

size of wheels? Do u want to look like a pimp or an executive?
wheel Size isn't the only factor to look like a pimp , some wheels will make your ride look like that without wider wheels ..

And jaybell , what do you thing about the handling and performance of the S65 with either 20" and 22" .

Im in NY, the roads for the most part are crappy.... THe really Low-Pro set ups are prone to flat tires and bent wheels on the NY streets.... I like the looks of the 22's but i would probably stick with 20's maybe with a wider in the rear or poss 21's if you want to go a little bigger....

I feel Mercedes has developed the correct wheel for the car. If it were me, I would leave the wheel stock, or upgrade to another AMG wheel. As for aftermarket, I don't think i would be wise. I personally hate Benz's with chrome rims so IMO it would be a sin to ruin such a beautiful car with 20" chrome or whatever.... I like those rims in teh picture at the top, but they are a little big looking. Again, I would stay with the stock AMGs if I were you.

what makes the AMG wheel so superior? Forget about the finish.... then why if it is so superior? then upgrade to another AMG wheel like you suggested?? They bend and crack like any other wheel.... They are not made special.... THey have a height a width and a offset... So why cant a person change the wheel, staying within those parameters... lol... sorry i take my wheels seriously

I understand what you are saying... I just personally think stock wheels or a minor upgrade are apropriate over very large chrome wheels. Now some cars look nice with them, but for a car like the S65, I would stay stock. To me, the S65 is a supercar that happens to be a luxury sedan and it should be treated like one. You don't see very many Ferraris, Porsches, Lambos, Vipers, or Vettes with after market chrome wheels. (and if you do, they are usually by people who buy the cars to show off) The engineers made a wheel that would make the car exactly as it should be. By changing on a car like that, you change weight, rotation speed, braking power, etc. Some of the S550s you've done look pretty nice, but they are not 600+ HP super cars that are engineered and built to perform the way the S65 is.
Don't think i'm knocking what you do, or what other people choose to put on their cars, I just personally think you shouldn't mess with what the engineers have done with a car like the S65.

I strongly agree with both ideas :

I really don't like the AMG wheels and I don't know why they are so ugly ..
But for a car like the S65 I think I'll go with this one

In my opinion these Lowenhart rims are nice but they make the car look more like a sports car. It is a limosine type of car and that's why I wouldn't put anything different from the standart amg rims. After all it's a matter of your personal choise if you like them, you buy them.
