Brabus vs. Lorinser

Hi, regards to nevada jack and the rest of the veterans......

Just purchased a white '07 S550 and I've been looking at Lorinser and Brabus body kits and wheels. I want to know anyone's (unbiased) opinion on which kit is better? Also, if anyone has info on any quality differences between the two (e.g., suspension lowering module, etc), I would appreciate your input....

Thank you!

I personally like the Lorinser kit. I think the Brabus kit is a little too bland and close to original to even have it. Lorinser is different, but at least you can differentiate it between the regular S550s. Plus I also hate the Brabus quad foglight setup with a passion.

For those of you who don't know...

Lorinser:

The Lorinser rear also has a spoiler, but I couldn't find pics with one installed.

Brabus:

The one company that you didn't mention was Carlsson. I personally like them best because it's clean and maintains the elegance of the S-Class. But because it still looks similar to the normal body kit, it contradicts my previous statement.

Thanks for your opinions, AsianML .... To be honest, the only kit I've seen in person was the brabus so I can't be entirely impartial myself. But when I saw it, I was impressed with how clean it looked. I especially admired the LED lights that light around the car when you open any door, and the illuminated side sills. The brabus wheels i saw also looked good. Overall, it looked like a classy kit that gives the car a slight edge. I admit that the brabus kit is a bit understated but I've heard from some people that it is the highest quality aftermarket brand for mercedes, more than lorinser, carlsson, wald, and others. With such a big investment, I'd like to know that I'm installing the best quality, even at the expense of some subtlety.

I would appreciate any other input from anyone. Thanks.

Yes, that's generally so. Brabus is very high quality, while I might not like their body kits, I love their wheels.

i agree with AsianML...
i prefer lorinser kit... if i put chunk of money on body kit, i want to be noticed...
carlsson is also nice... i'd choose their kit over brabus.

imo....
Brabus kit is diffrent but not a wild Kit.... Where the brabus is made out of urathane (better quality) OEM specs..... Thats where the price diffrence is! Dont think because it Brabus thats why its more then the Lorinser... I have already done a Brabus S550 and i have all the Lorinser parts (full kit and fenders) waiting for my other customers S550 to come in... The Lorinser Kit is fiberglass and rather flimsy next to the Brabus.....

The only way i can rationalize it to myself would be.... When i was a younger guy, i was looking for a body kit for my 95 GST Eclipse, lol... and i was ebaying and googling for the best deal on the Blitz kit... Now if i would of known that the first thing i tapped with a fiberglass bumper would shatter it the way it did...... I would of spent the extra coin on the Urathane!!! That ruined my day.. =(

So the moral of the story is.... You get what you pay for... But hands down the Lorinser kit makes WAY more of a statment than the Brabus, on this model car...

PS im starting the Lorinser build on the 15th hopefully and will post pics when im done.... and if you have any questions or want prices on anything you can email at jasonbelsky@aol.com
