If price or cost is not to be considered which is the best S class?

Ooohhh......tough choice. It all depends on what "best" is defined as. In terms of luxury, power, handling...etc...my opinion is that the S65 is best.

But then the S600 has tons of history behind it. The S65 never existed until 2005/2006. The S600 also has tons of power, luxury, and great handling as well with the ABC option.

I think the S600 is the best.

The S65 IS a S600 but with more power... S65 is the ultimate S-Class, no, better yet, the ULTIMATE 4-door! I'd take one over a new M5 or S8 any day

It's the same car... more or less... The S65 is an S600 and in my opinion has the same history and prestige behind it. The only difference is the performace between teh S600 and S65. There's a reason the S600 is $140,000 and the S65 is $185,000

uh, s600 didn't theoretically exist until 1992, i wouldn't exactly call that tons of history or prestige, especially since mercedes "downfall" occured with the arrival of that s-class

Yeah, you're right.....but that's about 13 more years than the S65.
