I guess you don't accept the answer "change your phone brand". Since you have a V221 car, you definitely have the local phone book on the Comand. Wouldn't it be sufficient if you download a "fixed" phone book, I assume you can use it with your phone, at least I can use the local Comand phone book with my phone.
Since you cannot download the phone book from your phone, perhaps you can sync your phone with a laptop (outlook or something) and then send the phone book from there to Comand, or borrow an other phone brand that supports sending the whole phone book (as visitor cards) through BT to Comand.
Go here, http://www.wireless4mb.com/, to find out which features will work on your Blackberry. This is a great site to check out before buying a phone that will be used in a Bluetooth-equipped MB. Potential clients can avoid being disappointed afterward, when certain phones aren't fully compatible with their cars' BT system.
the blackberry phone book will never light up in COMAND. i have synched dozens of phones to the MB bluetooth adapter (i am a dealer employee), and with no exception (so far) have any PDA/smartphone been able to share stored contacts. it has something to do with the way your device stores files. to be sure that your address book will download, try a motorola or nokia phone (not smartphone). the RAZR has been the easiest, and my nokia 8801 works fine as well.

How do you classify "Nokia smart phones" (I understood your comment as Nokia smart phones too would not necessarily support phonebook download)? My N93 downloads the address book perfectly to Comand. I have not tried Communicator type of devices but since both are Symbian phones, I would expect similar behaviour. Actually I know all current S60 phones have phonebook download support but there may be compatibility issues with the MB device (where I am not aware which side is "guilty", would be useful to know in order to seek for SW update on the correct part).
