Thought I give a head’s up. I just ordered a S550 4Matic from my local dealer at HBL Tyson’s Corner (DC Suburbs). The curios thing was that I was able to pick out options that are not available on MBUSA’s web site.. They told me that this will be a Late Nov early Dec Build with a January delivery.
I was able to choose all of P3 Options ala cart without actulay choosing P3.

i just talked with HBL today, and they said no way to get P3 until new year. I bought my 2000 S500 there in 1999, and am ready for the 550, but want P3, distronic plus. who did you place the order with? PS, any discount? I finally have my S500 debugged, after 85K, but the 550 drives great.

Post some pics of the 500, and the 550 when you get it. I got mine about the same time you got yours, and considered moving up to a 550, but I still love my old S too much. 69k miles and it still looks and drives like it did when I got it. Like you I got all the bugs out and figure why go through that again w/ a new one. There always seems to be a two or three year "break in period..."

The P3 options can be ordered separately along with Distronic Plus. Check Glauser MB in Denver. They ship directly to your front door.
