Hey Chucky I have a question for you, Im in the process of ordering my 22's for my S550 so one of my questions is what size are your tires and does it rub at all. I would really appreciate your help Im just worried the rear will rub everytime I go through a dip.
thanks!!!!!
What does the ride feel like with those 22" wheels and low profile tires?
I'd be interested to know too. This probably depends a lot on how good condition the roads one is driving are.
In Europe, even the S500 has 17" wheels as standard. I got a very good offer (complete set with a lot lower price than tires or wheels alone) to "upgrade" from 17" to 18" when someone had changed his 18" wheels to some other. I started hesitating, the ride response seems to be surprisingly good already with 235/55 tires. The 255/45 tires would bring more road noise (on our roads specifically) and would bring a minor gas (diesel) consumption increase.
The 17" wheels do not look that perfect I admit, myself I prefer the AMG wheels that e.g. NJ has, over any other I've seen so far. That would be the max size I personally would consider, not meaning that the looks of 20" or higher could not be OK or that higher would not be OK for others to consider.

Permit me one small BRAG:: Two weeks ago, the 2005 NFL Rookie of the Year was checking it out at my local gas station. Shame he has a car deal with a namesake brand. **Chuckling**
After one month and 2K miles, my one BIG COMPLAINT is that the HK sound system is woefully inadequate, perhaps even pitiful given the obvious quality of car.
Previously had a 2002 S500--nice, but this blows the doors off it in most every other way. The Bose sound system in my 2002 was better & MUCH louder...
BTW, the second pic is before window tint. Enjoy!
