Update to W221 ordering options - Benzworld.org

I received an email from my salesman this week. The following changes were made to the ordering packages:

- The electronic trunk closer has been deleted from the Premium packages and is orderable as a stand-alone option.

- Sirius satellite radio has been added to all three Premium packages.

- The R67 wheels (18" 5-spoke chrome) are no longer orderable. This is what I wanted but he said not to worry, they can pull any wheels I want from parts and put them on the car.

- AMG Sport Package is not yet orderable.

- Only Premium 1 is currently orderable. Premium 2 and 3 orders will not be processed for a couple of months.

Thanks for the update...I was also told what you said by my dealer 4 days ago..pano roof and dvd entertainment system not orderable till march!!

I spoke to my sales person today who informed me that the packages actually can be ordered with a few variations. For example, instead of P2, you can order P2A which offers all of the same features however there is currently a delay for the wood and leather steering wheel. I don't exactly understand why there is delayed availability for this, but this is what I was told. I'm actually quite disappointed because my car would otherwise have been delivered the first week of February if I did not choose to wait for the wood and leather steering wheel to come from the factory. Anybody else heard anything similar?
P.S.--Can anybody do something about that disgusting thread that was posted with the subject heading "Hi"? I don't understand why some people have to be so distasteful and rude...

probably because so many people want it, (and who wouldn't?) that they are just overpacked with requests for the wood/leather steering wheels.

When did you order that you'd have it in Feb if not for the steering wheel? I was told 6-8 months to get mine :(

I'd wait the few months until the options you want become orderable. What's a few months?

I'd get the Pano and DVD if I were ordering today.

I've had a deposit on the 2007 S-Class since 2004...up until this snag, I was scheduled to be the first S-Class delivery in Hawaii.

After a few months, it won't matter when you got your car. I think a silver with the pano looks great.

very cool. That will be very rare and expensive after a couple of years, because it was the first one for hawaii.

I verified at ordering that I can change the order any time before the car goes into production ... that way I'm on the list and can still get what I want [:D]
