RE: S Class Crash video.
What is the little white bar on the ground that the video keeps showing us?
At the end, near the crash, I hear tire squeeling. Did the driver step on brake?
Thanks for the video...

Distronic did not fail, BAS Plus failed. Later it is explained that the part of the building where the test took place is containing too much metal surfaces therefore radar signals did not "behave" normally.
No airbags because the hit was not hard enough.

Can someone who understands German explain to me what the little white bar on the ground that the video keeps showing us is? You know the one that the car passes by on its way to crashland?
Thanks...

This bar on the ground tells the driver where he should step the brake pedal to stop the car safely just before driving through the thick fog. With the silver S the man from auto-bild magazine only "acted" like the car warned him and he stepped brakes. But there were no warning signals again, he just stopped it with hard braking at the time he drove over the white bar.

RE: S Class Crash video.
Thanks for explaining. So, the tire squeal I heard was the driver braking and not the car itself. I see...
