At first I thought the new S-Class was a severe what the fuck its a BMW 7-series. Don't deny it, we all thought that.
As a while went by the exterior really grew on me, it became dignified and assertive. However I still was not in love with the interior.
After reading the reviews from Edmunds and other sources that did not have any new pictures I became aware that the new S-Class is here to reclaim the glory and is made from great materials and design, however the interior was still not that great with me.
After reading reviews from Automotive and Motor Trend I am nearly inlove with the car and the interior. The one thing that the PR photos did not show was the ambient lighting at night time. The ambient/enviroment lighting is very nice as is the leather in the interior.
Now I cannot wait to see and feel one of these S-Classes for myself.
I agree too... having seen the darker-colored 221s, I think they look great now. And I'm working on trying to like the dash & console look more and more...
Just wish I knew if they'd be any more reliable than other M-B's of recent vintage.
That is something only time will determine, but I think it will be a very good car. Mercedes knows that the S-Class is the apex of large luxury sedan, and if you agree with Top Gear, Edmunds and Auomobile, then if it fails then Mercedes fails. It seems to be made of the best quality materials, and seeing as the new ML, CLS and SLK class seem to be doing great I think Mercedes is starting to go back up. Oh, and if nobody else noticed, Shremp is gone, so that is a definate plus.
Jurgen Schremp- (so I mispelled his last name) is the former CEO of Mercedes-Benz, he is the man repsonsible for the problems and the merger with Crysler.
