Short or long wheelbase version?

I understand there will be short and a long wheelbase versions. Which is the U.S. getting?

Two trims will be offered: the S600 and the S350. More engine choices will follow after the first year lineup.

Thanks but are those trims correlated with wheelbase length? Up to now, no other models vary in length...different engine sizes have the same body.

not true. 2006 s350 (us version) IS a short wheel base auto sharing its dimensions largely (or not so "largely" - ha!) with that of the e-class while maintaining an s-class shape. the s430, 500, 600 and the amg series are all long wheel base autos.
