THIS THING SCREAMS 7-SERIES. WHY MB, WHY??
Did anyone else really appreciate and admire the qualities of the current s-class that really differentiated it from BMW? I know I did really love those curvy lines inside, crafted from leather and wood. The feeling of oppulence and luxury, knowing full well the tremendous technological beast you were really commanding.
I hope this new s-class direction doesn't last. Only the consumers will determine that. I know one thing for sure, I see 10 times as many MB s-class sedans than I do new 7-series sedans.
Well, here it is 2 years later and we see the consumers must like it. It has record sales for a luxury car. I was also initially scared of this design but now after owning one nealy a year, I have to say it is one of my favorite cars.
I'm still a W215 CL fan. That is still my favorite style on any car in history.
No comment on the design other than the fact that the W221 looks seems to appear on the new W204 and the info on W212 looks like the same (although isn't anything confirmed yet).
The sales aren't as good as 1:10 but quite good still, the German sales figues (from jesmb) in the figure.
