I have two questions. First, I have noticed in the older S-Classes that the windows are slightly tinted blue. Was this a factory option or was it aftermarket? Second, the 2000 S-430 comes pre-wired with a phone system. I didn't purchase the phone option from MB. I would like to add a phone now to the system. How can I go about doing this. Do I need to buy their phone in order for it to work or can I use my existing one? Thanks
I have a related question. I am told by the M-B salesperson that the 2001 cars are prewired for a larger variety of cell phones than prior years. Great. But the factory kit costs just under $2000. Och! I'm perfectly happy with my little Nokia phone, but the reception while driving could be better. I'd like to tap into the car's cell phone antenna that I think is already there. Does anyone know if this is possible, and how to do it?
