Touchshift

Anybody familiar with touchshift here? I noticed that if I push the lever to the right and hold it there, I get into D. Is that what it's supposed to do? Would it be bad for the transmission if I push and hold it to the left, what will happen?
Thanks for any feedback in advance!

Re: Touchshift

I suppose if you really get desperate you could read the owners manual.

Re: Touchshift

Push to the left for downshifts. Each push to the left you will go down one gear until you reach 1st. Push to the right for upshift, each push goes up one gear from where you are.
Re: Touchshift

If held to the left the transmission will downshift to the lowest gear allowed by the Control module. The idea is go quickly go to lowest gear for passing/performance driving. It differs in function from kickdown (accelerator pedal to floor) in that kickdown will only drop down two gears.
