Designo Silver vs. Designo Expresso (S500)

I am going to purchase one of the above but noticed
there is a $500 increase for the Expresso (black). I
assume this is due to more areas having real leather in the
Expresso as compared to the Designo Silver.

Are these additional area of leather significant?

Could I order the Designo Silver (exterior) with the interior
of the Designo Expresso (black).

Any comments or suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Re: Designo Silver vs. Designo Expresso (S500)

The Designo Silver edition has MORE leather than the Espresso edition. Despite the relatively close prices, the Silver edition has the exclusive leather found in the S600, which includes leather on the dash, console, doors, and rear parcel shelf. It also comes with more wood, including on the assist handles, and alcantara headliner (suede-like headliner also found in the S600). The Espresso edition is simply a normal S class with unique paint and interior colors and the wood steering/shift knob package. Dont ask me why there is a disparity, but there is. If you are going to order a Designo edition, the Silver edition is by far the better deal because you are getting much more. And, no you cannot swap interior and exterior colors. Maybe under the European Designo program, but not on U.S. Designo editions. Hope this helps.
