I went on a vacation and I had my car battery connected to a trickle charger in the garage, for some reason the lead was disconnected and the battery got drained.
When I returned I fully charged it.
Now the problem is, the keys won't unlock the doors, and by using the metal key I was able to get inside the car, putting the key in the ignition won't turn it, the steering is not locked, on the dash there is a message Don't Forget Your key.
both keys flashing red and won't do anything.
What could this be? How can I fix this issue.
forgot to mention it's 2004 S55 amg
Thank you!
I will do so.
I've disconnected the battery and have it on the trickle charger, the light on the charger is still RED I think it's not fully charged, although when I connect it, I get the lights and stereo to work.
This happened to me, and it turned out to be the starter battery. All indications of start appeared normal except the final step of cranking the engine. I had to have my car towed to the dealer, but I wish I had known to take the battery only. So, pull the battery and have it thoroughly checked. Also, you might try jump start. Another thing I did not do, but wish I would have.
SOLVED!!
Thank's a lot guys for your help, apparently the 7.5a fuse for the Keyless-go was fried!
it's located on the side panel of the passenger seat.
