Fuel Filter Location: 2004 S55 AMG

Good evening to all MB enthusiasts. I just traded my 04 CayenneS for a new beast--an 04 S55 AMG. She is a wonderful machine! This is my first of hopefully many posts on this forum.
I was wondering if someone could confirm the location of the fuel filter on my 04 S55 AMG. I know the DIY topic of fuel filter replacement has been discussed ad nauseam, but I have not been able to find anything definitive about the location of the S55's location. Is it on the underside of the car near the rear wheels or is it in the fuel tank?
Thanks to all for the help!

I have not been able to get under the car as it is at the shop getting lower control arms done. I just forgot to ask my mechanic its location when I dropped it off. I found two different filters at autohausaz and it just made me curious.
Car has 130 k miles. But she has been maintained extremely well with new ABC pumps, radiator, tires and wheels, as well as a fresh transmission service. I just want to make sure the car is in perfect condition so a new oil change, brake fluid, coolant, and fuel filter should make her good to to.

Thanks

Underneath the rear right of the car and is covered with a black plastic shield.
In the pic 52/64/75 are the fuel lines and 55/1 is the vacuum line for the regulator. 55 is the filter itself.

Eric.....thanks for the schematic. I'll be changing it out this weekend after my parts get here from autohauseaz. Do you have a MB repair DVD or is there a way to access these diagrams? I have searched the benz forums and have not seen a definitive answer on how to access this material. From what I’ve read those who buy MB Repair DVD's from eBay have very mixed results. Thoughts or suggestions???

This information can be found in WIS but yes the ebay CD's can be hit and miss, the alternative is all data or Mitchells.

Here is the procedure anyway.

On my 03' S55, the fuel filter has just one fitment IN and one OUT. Not the two fitments on each end totaling 4, can someone chime in to confirm on this please. I asked two different dealerships and one said its just the one In and one OUT fitments, but other dealership said its the 4 fitment fuel filter

I do not mean to be impolite here, but why not get under the car and check for yourself?

Hi Eric, no offense taken , to make story short I had back surgery few weeks ago so I was compiling all the parts I need for a tune up, so I can pass it along to my Mechanic, unfortunately I have the car with me and I cant bend down and needed the fuel filter ASAP, but anyhow I verified which one I needed, thanks for the help
