2002 s500 wipers not working

I am stumped, I have no power at the wiper motor, changed out 2 relays in drivers side box that I was told may be suspect, replaced signal/wiper stalk, have non feature idea what else to check all fuses seem to be ok. My local mechanic is also stumped weird thing is he got it working for like 2 minutes when he swapped out different relays, but that may be a coincidence. I did have past issues once windshield was replaced that the intermittent feature stopped working but did not affect other speeds. also I am having issue with steering wheel adjustment not working?? poss. related? Any suggestions what I am missing? nextstep is to bring it to the dealer, problem is it is the only car I have presently, but if thats what I need to do so be it, but I wanted to ask here first, Any help would be appreciated..Forgot to mention when I press the wiper arm in for spray it does work, but thats all...no wiper function in any speed

With a SAM on the way, check to see what could've fried that SAM; water, etc.

As a follow up and to assist any others with same issues, I had the SAM replaced which was purchased at EBAY, Ha, Stealer did not get my money, lol. and problem has been resolved. There was a little trial and error on my part. replaced good functioning stalk, checking power at wiper motor. changing out 2 relays, but all in all end result was good. I did all I could in researching here and other site to give me a direction without having to throw too many parts or labor to correct issue. But from what I've read even the dealer seems to do the same as I had done from what I've read here.

The SAM is an acronim for signal acquisition module. it is located at the front drivers side and is where your relays and fuses attach to. Best way is to do a search in ebay under SAM Mercedes (car model) quite a few should come up. you should pay no more than $100-$150 with all relays intact. when installing do not forget to disconnect the battery. If you need any help sourcing the init let me know I will help you find it on Ebay...no problem

All is working fine now I do have a seperate issue with intermittent function since changing the windshield. this issue predated the issues of the wipers not working at all. Also I was having issue with my rear left blinker not working which has also been corrected since swapping the Sam.
