2000 S430 Shuts down while driving?

I have a 2000 S430. W220 Chassis.

Here's what happens...

I can drive her around town, everything's normal. I can drive her to work, everything's fine. When i drive home from work (up hill) she shuts down halfway up. Cranks but won't fire. I can let her sit for 30 mins and she will start up normally and drive perfectly the rest of the way home. This happens every time i try driving her to work & back.

When she shuts down, she doesn't sputter, there are no warnings, she just turns off. Everything is still on & running except for the engine lol.

I have replaced the throttle body assembly, as well as the fuel pump, and she drives better than before... except she still just shuts down on the way home.

any ideas???? I'M GOING CRAZY!!!!

Hello, i would agree with the previous post ! Had similar problems with my 2001 SLK320, turned out to be the Crankshaft Position Sensor, bought from a MB dealer, but am told they are available from a Bosch dealer as well. Since i changed mine all has been good !! Regards Damian.

I believe the Bosch articlenumber is 0 261 210 170.
