Unfortunately, it could. I would say, that this is most likely to be the reason of trouble than what you coul do checking fuses. Also, I doubt that it is posssible to locate the problem via Internet - this is the case for computer diagnostic.

Speaking about car-key, mind, that each key has a limited amount of codes that allow to start the engine - this is the picularity of Mercedes security system. When the key is out of code combinations - it becomes useless.
So I advise anyone who has only one key to order one spare key at a dealer's office - just in case.

Your initial post and this post seem to describe two different problems with your vehicle. 1) Your car will not start 2) You vehicle will not shift out of park. Would you clarify if you have both issues or just one of them.

well as the car would not start i was not compelled to shift it out of park , but as i kept trying things i ended up trying to shift out of park and could not, so yea i have both problems.
i'm thinking i triggered some security measure, but hell if i know how to fix it

How old is your battery?

Do you have a volt meter to check to make sure it is good?

You might of killed the battery when jumping the other car. Also, you are mighty
brave jumping another car with a W220

Anyway check the battery, because these cars do some really weird shit when they are electrically underpowered.

Ok, do you have volt meter and can you tell me what the new battery is putting out?

Also check to make sure the terminal connections to the battery are tight and not oxidized.
