I have had the car drop while driving, It was my wifes car before that little problem. It happened on a cold road and we had a hell of a time getting a truck that would take the car from the shoulder. the front end was touching the ground.Once fixed it has not been any trouble since. But my wife will not drive it again. And I stare at the dash everytime I get in it for that dreaded Stop Car To Low.

I assume it dropped slowly, since it would have to blow an air hose or something to drop suddenly. How much damage did the drop cause to the front end when it went down? Weird...

No damage, we were 15miles from home and I was driving when I pulled up to a traffic light the airmatic visit worksop came on and a mile up the road the red light came on. Had to pull over gradually because the wheels were rubbing. Steering was very hard. So I went to pull off the road to take a look and the front end was an inch or so from road.
Way to low to get on a flat deck or a wheel lift from the shoulder. Thank god it was not on the Hwy and the shoulder was clean. We had to make four small plywwod ramps to miss rubbing my front end on the flatdeck. Then it was another headache because I had it towed to my place and to get it off then back on when I found out it was not a DYI. But I did change the relay here.
I just replaced the seal caps on my Airmatic strut towers today...I did need the special tool which I got of Ebay for $85.00...Parts (the actual Kit) were $230.00, so i did the whole job myself in about two hours. I am by no means a mechanic and I will say it was probably one of the easiest jobs I have ever done.
I have never heard of the car dropping while being driven... Where'd you hear that?
hi jayhawk - there were several reports on this forum as well as other. The one that sticks in my mind was a guy on a 'free way' who's car just suddenly dropped on one side and he went into the side of the road very quickly. By is own admission he was very lucky that there was nothing along side of him. He was not sure of this was due to the strut problem or something else. There was a lot of damage to his car. I'm not sure what the result was but from what I remember this was not an isolated case.

Congrats, I hope it holds up for you. Post back to the site on this topic to let people know if the fix continues to work well.

Dbenz good for you, you should list the procedure for other members to share your experience. Did you do pic's? and did you get the suspension calibrated afterwards?
