I'm lurking on this forum trying to get enough information to make a decision about my daily driver. Do I replace it with a W220?

I absolutely love my black 1988 300SEL and consider it a privilege to pilot this fine machine, but its getting a bit dog eared. It must sit outside and after 20 years it is showing the consequences with a bit of faded paint and some small rust spots on the chrome where the water pools on it. It has 134k and I drive only about 6000 miles per year. No known mechanical problems.

I have had a lot of MB vehicles over the years but none newer than a 1994 E320 Cab wife drives. So I'm trying to catch up a bit to see it its worth learing new technology and confronting new issues as opposed to making an uneconomical investment in my old Benz.

So here I am. I know there is no one answer to this, but I just wanted to say hello and let you all know I'm here.
