so its 148$ each, plus 2 and something hours labor (102$/hr) total about 600$+ tax, thats the total from stealership, is it good idea to look around for german specialists other then dealers?
Im so pist off at the stupid dealership I jsut picked up my car from them, they fixed my struts (cracks) but they refuse to reset the height on it, they saying its not included in the 300$ labor, I have to pay extra, so my front stills sits low and my back is really high. plus they knew about my leaking problems 10,000 miles ago when it wasnt obvious, but nobody ever told me about dumbasses
now how do I reset the height? I remember one time my battery died, the car was really low and then it raised to appropriate height once I started, if I disconnect the battery will it to the trick?

It is my belief that this is dealer bullshit. After the repair fix kit the weasels must perform an air suspension fill and release and I think also a "Rodeo" test, and they for damn sure have SDS/DAS connected at some point. See below for pdf on ride calibration for AirMatic. Sounds like typical dealership price chipping.
Just for information the Rodeo test is for the ABC system and not airmatic. But Im stunned they would not perform a ride height adjustment, having just repaired the system??? We would do it as a part of the job.

they actually called me today to follow up about my expirience with their dealership, but I missed the call, I will call them back and complain.
Tell us where you lived!!! I'm thinking of spearheading an nationwide Dealer Blacklist!!! OR trying to petition the Forum owners to add this to catagory so that people can express their legitimate dealer complaints there... Let the fake ass dealers log on and absolve themsemves...LOL
For front strut top rebuild at dealer in CT wants $400-2 kits, 4 hours labor @ $130.00/hr. This would include ride height adj./calibration. So $930.00 would do it.
My valve block was the problem, though, and they said my compressor was not making enough air, and needed replacement also. However, the raise/rise feature only took 5 sec., and the car was low only 2 really cold mornings, one of which it had been sitting 2 days in cold (valve block leak). Other times it sits for days, no problem.
Skylaw/others, here are my questions:
Does the air storage tank hold enough air to provide for 2-3 rise drop sequences (taking 5 sec to rise) within 10 min. all the while the compressor only giving 25% of normal air output(seals leaking in pump)?
And, how does $1600+ sound for just a new air pump(compressor) and valve block (I just did my relay 2 months ago)????
Anyhow, I went ahead with the work, they had the parts in stock, and provided a loaner(non-mb). I will update after.
