I searched the forum for info on changing the gas pedal myself but didnt see anything. I have a 2000 s430 and was wondering if any of u gurus knew how to change the pedal instead of having to take it to the stealership. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thx

I didn't bookmark it, but someone recently posted information on changing the throttle controls (not the gas pedal itself) on either BenzWorld or MBWorld; a search (gas pedal, throttle) may get it for you. The post was within the past 2 weeks.
Good luck.

just buy the pedal and replace it. Make sure the keys and ignition are off/out. Simple procedure, no need for programming. I have a used pedal, complete assembly from an 04 S430 i will let you have it for $50 plus shipping! Let me know if you are interested!

Good Luck!

There is a screw under a plastic circle cap, towards the bottom, but under the pedal.

There is a screw under a plastic circle cap, towards the bottom, but under the pedal.(in between the pedal and floor.) pry off cap and screw is there, disconnect two connectors, and replace with new one.

I am having O2 Heater Circuit Failure codes and misfires all over on my S600. New MAF and O2 sensors did not help. Is there a possibility the pedal potentiometer is the problem? There seems to be a lot of talk about replacing this item.

W220 Accelerater pedal assembly or module?

Hi. I am new to the forum. I sell MB for a living for the past 12 years and recently purchased a 2001 S430 with 103000 kilometres. I have the issue of no throttle when cold. Our shop forman found the subject code @time of trade in last week but said further diagnosis is necessary before I buy any parts .It is COLD here in Calgary now and our shop is overwhelmed and can't get my car in . Is there anyway to know if I should replace the module or the complete pedal assembly? Or should I wait?
