I find it comical. Have a system on my W215 CL500 that tells my a 'Standing Light " is out. Great engineering. Of course when I looked there was no insulation left on the wiring. No heavy engineering there.

If anyone is viewing from 2020, one possible fix to this is unplugging the harness from headlight and reconnecting it. This might work if none of the functions associated with one headlight works indicator, foglight high/low beam or side light.
