GPS Signal Strength??
I just noticed yesterday that on the Command Screen, my signal strength was not there (no bars representing reception)???? Does anyone have any ideas? I hope nothing is wrong! I turned on the navigation, and it seemed to work fine (i was in an open area though).
Please, any input would be appreciated.

You mention bars of signal strength. Your COMAND should show the number of satellites you're receiving (differently in different model years). The bars are associated with your cell phone (even though they are shown normally on your nav map display), and if it wasn't plugged in or mated, you would not see them.

it's a 2000 s500. you know what, i think you're right. I just thought that the bars of signal strength was related to the GPS. where does the it show how many satellites are available?
As I recall, the '00 shows it the same way the '01 does; see the link at http://phdwebsite.powerpulse.cc/COMA...L%20COMAND.pdf pages 177-181. When you get to the proper map display mode, it's at the top right side of the screen.
You can download the COMAND instruction book for the '01 model year from Paul Dick's webite at http://home.earthlink.net/~phdwebsite/comand_manual.htm. Just remember that the voice control in the '00, if you have it, controlled only the phone and no other functions.
it's freaking freezing in Maryland!!! I like the fall and spring, absolutely hate the summer and winter!
Yeah, me too. My wife has been up there all week, gets back tonight, and has to go back up next week. We just left the Baltimore and Northern Virginia area in October. Glad I'm here (despite the expense to hurricane proof our house - but that will be finished before April).
