S430 Battery and Malfunction reset
Replaced factory battery in my 2000 on Sat and learned how to reset Airmatic, ESP and BAS malfunctions that came on when I put the new battery in.
Proceedure is as follows:
Start engine, turn steering wheel to lock-right, then to lock-left then recenter. Remove key for 15 seconds and restart. This will reset the codes and remove the malfunctions.
Just FYI. I was impressed the factory battery lasted 6 years and further impressed that when I refilled each cell in it and reinstalled it, the car started. I replaced it anyway with an interstate 860cca for $110.00.

Mine lasted six years too! But I didn't have to reset anything. Guess the guy who put it in knew what he was doing.
Don't believe everything you think
