hey people, i have a 2000 S500, and the remote windows and sunroof feature doesn't work. anyone else having this problem? oh, and my key only works really close to the car. i changed the batteries in both remotes, so i know thats not the problem. help me out!
Same thing happened with the windows on my 2000 S500. Work had been done on the door locks, and the IR sensors had not been put back into the proper place. Once they were adjusted, everything worked fine.
However, your door locks work on an RF system having nothing to do with the window IR sensors. If you don't get proper range unl;ocking tge doors, it could be your key.
Did the dealer re-code your keys after replacing the batteries?

yeah it was all reprogrammed. does it on both keys. hmm.. also when i push the recirculate button on my a/c, its suppose to roll up the windows and shut the sunroof? its not doing that either. weird.
It may be a synchro problem. P;ace all windows down, sunroof open. Unlock the doors. Then with the key lock the vehicle while holding lock button down constantly and be sure to aim the key at the door handle. Distance is a factor, dont be more than 2 feet away.
As for the filter switch not closing the windows/sunroof ... your computer may need to be flashed or the button simply doesn't work.
