airmatic suspension

What are the first signs that the airmatic suspension is going out? When purchasing used how can you test the suspension to see if there is a problem?

RE: airmatic suspension

Spray soap water on the connectors.
Check airmatic relay (disassemble).

Cheers, Frank

RE: airmatic suspension

observe the level overnight. if one or two levels dropped- it's a leak on the strut. the relay goes bad but it's the cheapest of all the airmatic suspension parts- buy a new one. if the pump is noisy or still actuating after the level is reached then probably a a leak somewhere or could be the pump itself needs replacement. on the right fuse and relay box on the engine compartment you will find the relay. it is labeled "O". you can find the label when you remove the relays.

wait, it's not only the suspension you need to care about. consider the ICM, TV tuner and electrical leaks that was caused mostly by the OCP, telephone handset, CD changer, ESA or worse the EIS.
