changing 02 taillights to 05 - Benzworld.org

i have an 02 s40 and want to see if anyone makes a GOOD replacement tail light to make it the new style..like the 05..
i dont want crap like the POS cls grill i got off ebay,, that thing was a joke.... so only let me know if you have seen or heard they are good.

I think I have heard of it being done with MB parts. Isn't there a "new style" tail light available from the dealer?

I changed mine out this year and got Factory OEM 05 ones and am VERY Happy with it.

1> The material/quality was excellent
2> The fit was excellent
3> The installation was also very easy - I was done in 10 minutes.
4> Excellent Transaction Experience Overall

Thge dealer told me I couldnt use 05 ones that they wouldnt fit and or work..different fiberoptics or some SH_T...
arethose ones REAL?
did you have to modify anything or its plug and use..

Nonsense.

Two mounting points at the tail might be different. But that can be fixed by cutting one plastic pin at the taillight and putting one screw in another position (experience from MJ00, original part, respectively "ULO" part)

Ah, the sealing is also different. Suggest to buy the whole light (not only the screen) because the new sealing is NOT sold seperately.

See the AD it says OEM and didn't appear one bit otherwise. I had to do NO MODS on these. Even came in an OEM Box as shown.

Please don't mention the POS? Grille i'm still out $250 - Paypal won't help if they customers are robbed.

I'll agree with him 100% - i've got nothing but BS from stealerships. Mine told me it will take one hour to install(30mins per taillight) - $99/hr. Recommended I don't buy online for fear of fake stuff. The guy I bought from above was excellent all the way.

Inknu2 - I feel your pain! I have gone through the same POS < CL Grille > Deal with that Canadian eBay seller "jakuo" - Others Beware!!

I wouldn't recommend if I didn't have these tails.
