Filters - $25.00 each
red plastic tubes - are $14.00 each
The metal round tubes are $2.50 each at Orchard Supply Hardware (These are 3 inch round aluminum drain pipes that were cut in half)
Took me about 1 hour for the whole project.
You can find the filters and the plastic tubings for the filters at a local car shop that sells Accessories for Hondas. For me it was Autoware One on Tully Rd in San Jose.
Performance wise i do notice a little more responsiveness (Topend) when i step on the gas. Or it could just be in my head because i installed them.
The cone filters claim to add about 8 more house powers to the Hondas.
nice looking filters, be careful with engine bay temps, the heat makes the air less condense and usually robs HP without a heat barrier. also consider green filters, they flow much better, or True flow if you are looking for the best filtration
Hi.I'm a new member and while browsing I read your post about the air filter modification.I just bought a new K&N air filter element for my new 2004 S430 and upon installation yesterday I noticed that I had 2 filters like your car. Are 1 of those a cabin air filter? If so which one. I E-Mailed the company I bought them from and they haven't got back to me yet. Thank Al

None of those photos were photos of the cabin filter. The first photo of the filter is the original air filter that i removerd completely. There are two identical filters, these are both original air filters. You need to remove this because with my mod the filter is now located outside, so there is no need to have an extra filter in the orginal air filter cabin.
