Phone kit for S500

I have a S500 MY2000 with factory anolog phone system. Can't get service as every provider has moved to digital. Local MB dealer wants over $3000 to upgrade. They are nuts to think I want to correct their mistake at my expense. Why on earth would they put anolog in the car in the first place. Or atleast why wouldn't they have anticipated the changes coming and designed with that in mind. MB engineers are among the brightest in the world. I need help in finding a lower cost option or find a way to get MB to kick in something. At the moment I expect this to be the last Benz I buy for a long time. You might say I'm an unsatisfied customer!
