Did you consider any other luxury car before getting a W220?
If not, why?
I drove a 04 Jaguar XJR over the weekend and was blown away! I loved the lines of the car! The hood from inside the car looks awesome. There was plenty of room in back. I highly recommend driving a 2004 Jaguar XJ.
RE: Did you consider any other luxury car before getting a W220?
I agree. I never thought Id meet someone that looks at a car from that angle like I do. I love the way certain hoods look from the driver's view.
Id like to do a TOP 5 and see what people think.
My Top 5 cars with the greatest view from behind the steering wheel:
#1 Porsche 911 Turbo (LOVE THE SLANTED SIDES)
#2 Mercedes W140 (Love how it is straight ahead and the star is up high vs. the W220 that has such a slanted nose and the star is way too low)
#3 BMW Z3
#4 Mercedes Gwagen - very STRONG view. VERY STRONG INDEED
#5 2002 (year before the body change) SL 600
I had obviously seen the bulge in the hood of the new XJ in dozens of pictures and in the flesh, (alloy?) but driving that big car and seeing the bulge on the hood was awesome.
I drive a 90 BMW 325is and it doesn't stick out like the bulge on the XJ. It seemed to be an old-world touch.

I want to add to the list...It may sound funny, but I loved the view out of our old yellow w114 1975 twin-cam 280..... The bulge of the bonnet, the raised left and right sides that come from the headlights, and also the star. Very prominent. If you actually look at the star side on, its very thick. Mercedes made them thinner at the start of the W123.....
