do w220 S55 rims fit on w140 (92-99 S class)

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone knows whether or not W220 and W140 wheels can be swapped.

Will W140 16" stockers fit on S55 (for winter)?
Will stock S55 AMG's fit on a W140?

Thanks

16" wheels of any type will probably not fit an S55, due to brake caliper clearance on the front.

The S55 AMG wheels should fit the W140 just fine.

RE: do w220 S55 rims fit on w140 (92-99 S class)

thanks

i put them on (AMG type I's from a 02 S55 on a 93 S500) and they fit perfectly, no rubbing either.

only thing is back wheel studs portrude out ever-so-slightly, and the front wheel studs are recessed a bit (sit inside the wheel stud hole in the wheel whereas the back ones stick out).. am I to assume i will needs studs from a S55 or is it ok to run with the existing wheel studs even though they may stick out a bit?
