S class and electronic toll devices: S class telephone problem
I have a 2000 S-430. I also have an electronic toll payment device to use on local bridges. The toll device works only about 50% of the time. The Golden Gate Bridge authority told me that there is something about the window glass in the S class that interferes with the signal needed to pay the toll. They said the toll device will work if I hold it up to the glass on the sunroof (with the sunroof closed). Does this make sense?
One other question: I have an intermittent telephone problem. When I press the steering wheel button to make a voice actuated call, I get a message saying "function not possible." Usually, if I shut off the phone with the dashboard switch and turn it back on, everything is OK. The problem even happened at the dealer, and they replaced a chip of some kind but it's still happening. The dealer is stumped. Has anyone experienced this problem?

Please read your owner's manual. It should cover your issue with the Fasttrak payment transponder. There is a section of windshield glass that is not blocked and the device can be mounted to the visor there.
