Need tips on removing shift plate on CLS500...

I just bought the incartronics's bluetooth system. How do you get the shift plate off to get access to under the radio? Any tips?

take out the ash tray consule, that should give you enough room to get a good grip and just pull hard. trust me - it will come off, use both hands or you can use a rag and something pry bar like.
