I am a young fellow (26) and I am in the market to purchase a 2008 CLS 550. I feel a bit guilty for dropping 78-85 thousand dollars on a car ... but my true dilemma rests in the fact that I have such limited options for the cars available at the lot.
If Im gonna spend that kind of money on a car, which color would have the biggest "cool" factor?
Red
Calc White
Indium Grey
Capri Blue
both red and white only have the premium package no amg
and both indium grey and blue have both.
I like the grey in pictures although i havent seen red, grey or blue in person. outta the four cars what should I go with. Im leaning towards grey because it looks like a cool gun metal finish but is the 2008 red a nice color for a young guy? i cant find diamond white and obisidian black is totally out of the question. I have a black BMW, gold beige honda crv, and a family car 420 sel mercedes tan beige.
Is the indium grey a mundane color? and what does the blue look like? i havent seen actual photos of it, is it an unfavorable color to have?
Not sure about where you live but red CLS's are pretty uncommon around here. Not a big fan of the bright red but I do like the darker more burgundy red.
Here are some pics of my Indium Grey CLS that will hopefully help you decide:
I think the best color is just black, as the contrast with all alu-metal and the xenon lights is just awesome. I ordered customized CLS in March and received it few weeks ago and of course I selected black color. Well this is if you ask me .
By the way congratulation on your CLS choice, this car really rocks and roll.
I faced the same quandry last November when I was trying to select a color for our car (for European delivery in March). I didn't want white, black, or light silver (the Iridium Silver), because those are the common benz colors around here. I never saw a Capri Blue CLS, so didn't really consider that color. I did see several CLSs on dealer lots in Indium Grey (my second favorite color -- actually looks bronzey in some lights) and Flint Grey (too dark to my tastes). But I finally settled on Barolo Red -- with Cashmere interior and only the P2 package. I really like the color, which seems to change in different lighting situations. And everyone who has seen the car seems to love it -- it attracts a crowd in parking lots. Lots of good comments.
