next Gen CLS??

Hi everyone. what do you guys think about this next model CLS? I have just scanned the magazine picture and article I have just read. I don't like it, it looks too confused. The back isn't good. I don't mind the headlights but the front looks like it has melted and dripped in the center. I hope it looks better in real life but I remember seeing pictures of the current CLS and thinking it amazing let alone seeing in the metal. I am left hoping this isn't going to be it. What do you think? am I wrong and maybe it will grow on me. I think it would of been better if they went in the dirrection of the other picture I posted,(2007 CLE)
I couldn't attach the magazine pic but found the same one in my files. The mag is the Australian edition of Wheels. Wheels - Wheels Magazine - Car Reviews - Road Tests | Wheelsmag
Feedback wanted, maybe MB will hear us.

the article said launching 2010. new e in 2009. i'm sorry I couldn't load the scan but it went on to say 'the new swoopy-roofed four seated is a careful evolution of the original design masterminded by recently appointed chief designer Gordon Wagener. Also the next cls will be based on the 2009 e class as per the current. They say it will be a little longer and wider. Wheelbase grows by 150mm. They are delivering a DI engine in the 550 in 2012 so the article says watch resale values in the first 2010 models. The 350 gets a 218kw 3.5lt v6, the 550 gets a 289kw but the twin turbo 325kw DI arrives 2012. As it is an Aussie mag no info for you US people on whether you get the 350 this time around.. Also it is not the bottom pic but the 2 top ones. I prefer the bottom one. I guess the thing I don't like is the way the crease ends at the rear wheel into some sort of wheel arch. It is a bit clearer in the mag pic than here. I love the clean lines of the current CLS. I hope it is beeter in the metal. probably will be. Thanks for your reply. Chris.

Yes it looks like a big fat W140 Coupe on that last picture when I first saw that in the early nineties.
I don't like the rear though, they should keep the rear lights from the current cls, these ones look too much like the new c-class.

how can they redesign this car in just after 5 model years(2006,07.08,09).Germans cars get new body styles after 7 years or more.even though this car is based on the Eclass but E class was redesigned for 2003 model year, and cls came in 2006 model year.and cls just got facelifted for the 09 model year.
a good example is that Toyota camry and toyota solara are both based on the same plateform but they get their body styles get changed 3 years apart.

Hi there. The current CLS was actually released in 2004 so by 2010 or thereabouts 6 or so years have gone by. This keeps in line with MB model lines going for 6-7 years etc.
The one that has just been released is just a 'facelift' or mid series touchup.

The CLS first year for the CLS was '06 not '04

I read somewhere the new CLS would come out for 11, so it would be out early 2010... Which makes sense based on Benz' history... It won't come out in 2010 because the 09's just had a facelift...
