Bridgestone vs Pirelli - Benzworld.org

I have a 06 CLS55. After 23,000 miles I am ready to change my tires. My factory tires are the Pirelli PZero Rosso. I am buying my tires from Tirerack.com and they rate the Bridgestone Potenza RE050A better than the Pirelli PZero. The Bridgestone is also much cheaper. I have no experience with any other tires other than the Pirelli on my car. Any recommendation? Is the Pirelli worth the extra money?

well if it helps...........I had a set of Continentals on the back, and had to replace them @ 10 k , so good luck with the choice

Not having an AMG I can't really comment on straight-line stickyness but I feel much more solid in corners on my Perilli's than I did on the Sport Contact II's that came on the car. I do have to qualify my statement in that my Conti's were on the stock 18" rims and my Pirelli's are on the new 20" set so there is some consideration there. I saw the same thing when I was looking for the last set of tires and despite the lower price on the Conti's (At the time they were giving away a free Nav. unit or something too) I still went with the P Zero's.

I've never owned Pirelli's but the Bridgestones I have had in the past had a tendency to wear pretty fast.
