I just picked up my 2008 CLS550 diamond white edition. LOVE the car but not liking this clear plastic coating they put on the read door panel right in front of the rear wheels. The salesman said it's to protect the paint job from rocks and shit. I personally don't like it as dirt gets stuck in the groove between the metal and the coating over the metal.
Anyone else experience this? Can I get the dealership or my collision guy to remove it or am I stuck with it?
Here is the deal, you can easily remove it, its like a heavy duty sticker. I removed mine, and then had it put back on. I did start to get rock chips hence the reason for putting it back.
