I am debating between an 06 CLS 55 or an 07 CLS 63. I searched well into the 2006 posts and didn't find this topic, so I apologize if it's a question already asked.
Obviously a year newer model will cost more, but I'm wondering what the major differences are other than the larger engine. I've seen websites say both cars have 5 speed and 7 speed tranny's, so I'm not sure when the 7 speed started. Any other major or even minor differences?
Any opninions from people who have owned or even just driven both would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

i've only driven my 55. however i do want to test drive the 63. i've heard many opinions between the 55 and 63. based on what i heard, you feel more power on the 55 from a dead stop, and the 63 is better handling and feel more comfortable than the 55. and plus the awesome paddle shifter on the 63. but i heard if you were to upgrade both engine, the 55 can be a bigger beast.
as for me, i enjoy the supercharged engine, and all my other MB are 55. thats why i perfer the 55.
I drove both and eventually ended up with a 63. In all honesty they both felt fast and maybe the 63 was a smidgen faster but in the real world ... they were very close. My decision came down to sound, rarity, and color. Nothing matches the sound of a naturally aspirated 500+hp engine under hard acceleration. In the end I would have been happy with either but decided that the rarer (and newer) car was the best choice.

great opinion.... thanks... im also in the market for a cls and was debating buying a used 06 cls55 or leasing a new 08 cls63 and eating the depreciation :P

I'm not sure on which one is Faster i really think its a Driver race there!!! But I do love the sound of the 6.3 when its WOT.
