Smile iPod

Absolutely delighted with my new CLS 500 ( the 5.5 litre engine in Australia still gets the name CLS500). Delighted with one exception.....the iPod connection is poor. Sound volume is limited and 'hissy' at highest volume. Also, the heads up display only shows track name not the artist. Anyone seen the same issue? Any solutions?

Also, looking for a way to allowd the DVD unit to play multiple region versions of DVD's. Is there a code to use?

Apart from the minor stuff.....just love this car. I don't find the rear vision an issue (was mentioned in many posts) but the drivers side rear view mirror blocks my vision when turning 90 degrees. I got the advanced seats (with electronic lumbar and air blowers) and they are wonderful.

And for anyone in the USA bitching about the price, the Australian price with taxes for the equivalent of the CLS 550 is US$155,000.

plug in a line from the headphone jack on the ipod, then into the aux input in the glove box, and make sure the volume on the ipod is at max, your sound should double.

I have nav tv installed on my head unit, so I used the aux input that was provided by nav tv when using my ipod, my sound is now twice as loud

Congrats on your new CLS, here is my post on how to solve the Ipod volume.
Also send me a PM with your email and I will send you the PDF on how to unlock the Region codes.

Question: Do i really need to plug the headphone jack? And seems like the song title (info) is not displayed on the navigation screen. is this normal?

Thank you

You need to have the entire Ipod kit installed in order to have the song info on the dash screen. Even with the Ipod kit you will not have the ipod display on the Nav screen. The headphone jack is used to increase and fix the low volume when using the Ipod kit.

Nice pic Kevin, I did the same thing, and the volume is now twice as loud.. Just make sure the volume on the ipod is turned all the way up.
