AMG front grill on a CLS500 or 550

Has anyone installed an AMG front (3 fin) grill on a 500 or 550. I spoke to the dealer and they said that the current AMG grill WILL NOT fit on a CLS 500. Something about different configuration on the inside......is this true....anyone have any luck?

Also, I got a quote of $530 for the grill from the dealer.

thanks.

i am gettin so sick of dealers

"advising against" this and that. Those idiots just guess 80% of the time and are plain wrong the other 10%.

Theres not one mod question I have ever asked my local dealer and gotten accurate info.

I actually had the service manager tell me that if I lowered my car the entire warranty will be void and I cant even bring my car in for service...they wont touch it anymore.

This is against Federal Law. No dealer can deny any warranty issue unless its proven the mod directly affected the failure. IE a suspension issure cant cause engine failure so your engine is clearly still under warranty until you supercharge it. Even then it has to be determined the supercharger caused the direct problem.

Anyone know of a good service manager in the Bay Area that understands that Mercedes isnt the end all know all.

Hi Yahya

I Have an AMG Grill installed on my CLS, I bought it off ebay for around $200 which is really cheap. The Guy I had bought it from decided to sell due to purchasing Strut accessories.

To install the Grill was extremely straight forward. There are 3 screws/bolts on the top of the grill, at the left corner / right corner / and the center. It Literally took 10 minutes to install, although was a pain trying to center it correctly. I advise doing it yourself as it is a fairly straight forward job & saves you a fair some of money relating to Mercedes Dealer Labouring costs.

The Pictures can be found here. http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w219...new-grill.html

Hope This Helps

Thanks
