CLS visibility issue

Some people complain CLS has larger blind spot &
it is really hard to back-up without parktronic..

What do you guys feel about it?

That's why I made sure to get parktronic, a friend with an '06 said he regretted not getting the option. It's not visibility over the front, which is great, but rather through the back. This car has really poor visibility from the mirrors or around the blind spot, which is the trade off for a spectacular design. The physical reality is that this car has a lot less glass area that most sedans, and even though it's a coupe you have people like me who were considering sedan options but decided for the CLS because it's a 4 door design. Don't get me wrong, I would change a thing, but I'm careful to look twice and for a second longer to make sure I'm picking everything up when backing up or changing lanes.

Hopefully for the '08's they will have the back up camera kit and I will sure to get it installed. Until then open the door and stick your head out when backing up.

Yup, I have never driven a car with such a visibility problem but, like others, I can live with it because it's such a fantastic looking vehicle.

With Parctronic at the back, I just do it blind and hope that it does a good job for me. As for the small windows, you can't hang out of those anyway.

It's a car that has to be driven on high alert, but with that power to hand, that's no bad thing!!.

Hi all. I think that the visibility is not at top on this car.
But I like so much its line that I willingly bear that weight.
During parking the front/rear electronic device and the automatic movement
of the right mirror work well enough. They seem better than the
sistems I found on other brands cars.
Anyway we have to expect that its not so easy to
park such a long vehicle.
But what I think could be even really dangerous is
the visibility on both sides and diagonals.
On 40° left it is better to give 2 or 3 glances to be sure.

But the car is nice as is. And we say in Italy that you can't
have a full barrell and a drunk wife.
Ciao
