Aftermarket parking sensor, like parktronic?

Is there such a thing? Can parktronic be added? I'm scared to death of bumping the front bumper on a parking stop.

Thanks,
EmergencyDpt

Thanks,

There is a guy named Steve from MBENZL, he comes to the states, and installs any factory option to the car. He usually makes it to the bay area, does a bunch of cars at the same time. He would be cheaper then having your dealer do it.

Also the parktronic will not help with the curbs that are on the parking spots, they usually pick up something 2 feet off the ground. I always leave my tail end out just a hair out, so I've never scraped the front bumper.

KevinM,
thanks for your post. How do you know when this guy comes to town? I can think of lots of stuff I want. Voice command added to the navigation, Bi-xenon lights, headlight washers...
Doesn't sound like I need the parktronic. I've seen some things on ebay but the displays are bulky and it looks like you would need to drill holes in the bumper. I could probably put the front ones in the grill but the back ones...not sure how to handle them. Not going to drill a hole in the bumper to keep it from getting scratched up.

If I were to install an aftermarket parking system, I think I'd spend the money and get a camera setup that uses the LCD in the console. I did this with a Denali that my wife had a few cars back and it worked great.

I really wouldn't bother having anything put in up front because it won't help you with curbs (as was already pointed out) and the hoodline slopes so aggressively that visibility off the deck just isn't a problem on this car.

Thank you for your comments.

I have to say that backing up hasn't been the problem (knock on wood), it's pulling up to a curb or parking stop that scares me. I'm afraid I'll run the front lip over it.

I'm trying to get in the habit of raising the car up using the suspension button while in parking lots.

I guess the real answer is simply to be a good driver and know where my car is in relation to obstacles at all times.

my sister had them fitted from her MB dealer on a sportscoupe she seems very pleased with them.... you may also want to consider any warranty issues if you have them done outside the MB network
