I am having an issue with my suspension. How does everyone else's car ride. I think mine rides like crap, I am getting a lot of road noise and when I hit a bump the car sways from side to side to the point that it kind or feels unsafe.
I took it to the dealer and the re-balanced the wheels, and re-aligned everything. It still feel and sounds like crap. Any idea's as to why it is riding this way? I am taking th car back today for them to look at it again.
Our CLS has runflats, and they do make a bit of noise, particularly at lower speeds. I intend to replace them with normal tires when their life is done.
As for ride, we normally leave the airmatic set at Sport I (one red light on the button), as the Comfort mode is too floaty. Even in Sport I, some bump impacts will shudder their way up through the frame, again mostly at lowish speeds. At highway speeds, the suspension shines; it's one of the best long-haul rides I've ever experienced.
At low speeds you are right. I just got back from a 500+ mile trek, The car handled well but I did notice that the road noise was a little loud and that the car would sway side to side when you hit a bump. You wouldnt just go over the bump...it felt like to streering was being affect by the bumps. I think I will have to change the tires and well and see how the car handles. Thanks for your reply!

Are you using the lift option ? My car felt that way a stock height, but when I lowered and adjusted to the sport setting, it feels sturdier and smoother.
Yesterday I took Croakers advice and set it to sport 1, it did feel better but it still shifts side to side when you hit a bump. I will have to check the tire pressure to make sure its set correctly. On the gas tank door, it said something about if speeds are over 120 then to set the tire pressure to something...Ill have to go back and check. Maybe my tire pressure is too low. Does anyone know where it should be?
Do you guess know if when you lower the car using the after market modules, does it make the ride rougher or can you still use the Comfort, Sport 1, and Sport 2 settings? Are those settings void after you install the module?
The most known modules(Carlsson, Kleemann, Renntech etc...) all still let you use the different settings from the original airmatic. But you have to expect a ride that in each setting will become a bit rougher then it is today.

The shop where I took my car didn't even use a module. From my understanding, they were able to get to the cars computer and readjust the height that way and all of my functions still work. With the lift feature, I'm able to raise an 1 1/2" off the tire and in sport 2 I sit half a finger off the tire.
