I got a call from a dealer in LA, he has a titled 360 mile CLS 55 -
SILVER/BLACK
PARKTRONIC, LIGHTING PACKAGE, PREMIUM, TRUNK CLOSER, KEYLESS GO, 3M BRA
360 MILES
TITLED
MSRP $96,885
COST $92,500
Call 404-822-5247 if interested
this car is practically brand new, it only has 360 miles, show me an almost brand new car with less than 1k miles for 4000 off msrp. Most places would ask sticker.
I understand that is used, he said because its titled it should sell for less, which is not true for a car that is in demand. If the car was titled with delivery miles should it sell for $5000 off msrp? Some new untitled cars sell for msrp with more miles, so whats the point, I think whether or not the car is titled is pointless, its the miles and price that make the difference, and this is a good deal, if not show me otherwise.
I never could understand why, but people do it all the time on high end cars (trading them in with 200-300 miles on them). Maybe they buy them and drive but they hate the car so they sell it back to the dealer.
I looked at an equivalent new car at a dealer, best I could do was $3k back of MSRP. You're saving another $1380 because the car has been titled, probably from one dealer to another and not to an individual.
My new vehicle came with more miles than that, put on by the dealership's owner.
If you think you can find a near-new, ultra low mileage CLS55 for 20% back of MSRP... pass on the crack pipe!
