CLS55 trade in value
I have had my CLS55 for a little over 2 months and love it but it wasn't my first choice this go around on a vehicle, the M5 was.
I bought the CLS55 because of the absurd wait period for the bimmer. I am now being told that I can get the BMW I have been waiting almost two years for in a couple of months. I realy don't want two high end sedans so I asked the dealer what I could get in a trade. He told me $92000 for the CLS55 that I paid $97500. Does that sound right? It seems high to me.
I thought I would take more of a bath on the thing. At that price it's almost an even swap.

RE: CLS55 trade in value
well, sometimes, the dealers could be wrong. Like one time, i traded in my car, and the guy said he would give me 1000 bucks for it, and he ended up saying that he could only give me 500 bucks on it. That guy was a jerk....
Even though my story is about $91,000 off of what yours is, The dealer could say one thing, and do another.

Do you Know what, that is the exact same thing that happened to me! I took a trip up to the local Beemer showroom and was told to wait 2-3 years for an M5. The M5 is alot cheeper and comes with all the extras standard, whereas even the CLS55 AMG (top of the range) comes with only leather and all the features you would expect to come on a Honda.
From then on i ordered my CLS 320 cdi which cost me £59875 which is £2000 off of an M5! After all of this My friend who is an ex-BMW customer got told he could get one in around 6 months.
The salesman from mercedes told me that BMW give you an expensive price for a trade in so that you will be convinced to purchase one of their cars.
Anyway i am extremely happy with my CLS and i feel that the BMW M5 just looks like a plain 5 series with a sports kit, fins and 19s instead of 18s.

If you can get 92k for a trade, take it and run (make sure you get that in writing). Is he selling the m5 for sticker? The m5 has not been a success like the previous generation m5 was in terms of demand. Some dealers (in cali) are smoking crack asking for a premium, if you look around you could even find one for back of sticker.

tge old M5's were very very popular. Pretty mch everyone wanted one, but no so with the new m5.
Id keep the CLS over the M5, i think its a way more exciting stand out car than the M5, the new M5 reminds me of mums family car with a shitload of power !
